Assalamualaikum.
I started with surah Al Mulk. On a first day of my big project, FOCUS is what I need most. I begun my memorization by giving a full CONCENTRATION, and ATTENTION in order to absorb as many kalimah/ sentences/ayah as I can. I tried to find a place which free from distractions, my little compartment. This happened on 30th September 2011. I keep my progress on record. :)
I bear in my mind that the purification of one's intention and correcting ones desire is obligatory. Therefore, SINCERITY in memorizing the Quran is a crucial element. There is no reward for one who recited Quran and memorized it to show off and to be heard of.
