10th Report

Salam to all. :) Yesterday was not a holiday for me because I was so preoccupied with my maze-training. Emm..seem like Oreo and Velvet can adapt with it. Even though for the starting they were afraid. So, no memorization yesterday. I plan to deal with the new verses today. 15 left for Yaasin. Alhamdulillah. Seriously, memorizing the Quran is not an easy- peasy matter. I forgot certain verses today. Maybe because of my sins or because I ate mee Maggi last night. :(  Ok la.. I'm feeling so stress right now. Hahahaha. I hate this part, forgetting something which is crucial that you already remembered before. Tata.

9th Report

Assalamualaikum. :) I dont remember exactly for how many times I recited back all the verses that I have memorized for today. (fully Al Mulk and more than half Yaasin). More than 10 times I think. Phewwww...so tiring, I tell you. Ya Allah, the maintenance rehearsal processes took more than what I had expected. Alhamdulillah, I already memorized surah Al Mulk fully and surah Yaasin is still on progress. For now, 70 verses for surah Yaasin altogether in my mind. It means that 13 verses left. Ya Allah. I hope I can finish my memorization by tomorrow. Using a little bit of my organizational strategy, I imposed a rhythm for my recitation so that I couldn't forget easily. Sorry, I know I have a worse grammar but I want to use this opportunity to write in English which rarely happened, except during examination. The mushaf I used help me a lot. When I started to recite, the position of the ayah appeared in my mind as I am seeing the mushaf, which is I dont, of course. If the ayah in the next page, my mind will imagine that the exact position of the ayah. Kalimah after kalimah, even the slashes that I put for my chungking process. Its a visual imagery process. Hmm...what a special abilities our brain has right? The Creator must be more than superb! Allahuakbar.. So, I think thats all for today, I want to rest. With that, I end my post, assalamualaikum.

8th Report

Salam Maal Hijrah. :) Assalamualaikum everyone. Hows ur day for today? Mine is still going good, alhamdulillah wa syukurillah. Alhamdulillah, Allah still give me the chance to update this blog. InsyaAllah, I om on my way to jot my little progress.
So, lets start with what happened last night. Last night, I waited for my dinner like for ages. I went there (cafeteria) at 7.15 pm and I got my food at 8.15 pm. My my, the cafe  was not even full. Maybe the chef had his arm broken or whatsoever. I took the opportunity to recite again what I had memorized, it was a total fail. The cafe was ssooooooo noisy because Maharaja Lawak Mega was on aired. *SIGH*
Forget about that, now lets start with my new progression, alhamdulillah, I already memorized 46 verses of surah Yaasin which consists, 83 verses altogether. Emm..it means that....I have 37 more verses to go! Whoa.. It must be getting tougher and tougher because the verses are getting longer and longer (sounds rhythmic). Ya Allah, please make me work hard for it.  Please do not make me lazy. And please ya Allah, tell my patience to stay strong. :) Because at the end, there is a reward.

7th Report

Assalamualaikum. Report for today, I am very upset because everything was not according to plan. *sigh* I went to daurah tahmidi this night and I thought it will only take me about two hours or one hour. It did not turn up as it would be. Topic for today, fiqh siyasah. Conclusion, the talk was okay la.. so-so. And I am too tired for memorizing the new ayah. I just rehearsed the 27 verses of surah Yaasin while I am waiting for my friend. After the daurah finished, she told me that she planned to memorize her notes near the riverside. So, tomorrow morning, insyaAllah, at 7.30 AM we will go there and I can speed up for my memorization, hopefully. :)

6th Report

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh. :) Report for today, I recited surah Al Mulk, all the thirty verses, alhamdulillah, with less stuttered this morning. I recited the surah while I am playing with Oreo and Velvet ( hamsters for another course project) and I tried my best to return to what I have memorized during any time that I feel free. I am very afraid if I forget all the verses.

Progress for today, alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah, I already memorized 27 verses from surah Yaasin. 56 verses to go, insyaAllah. I even took some videos of myself reciting the surah back. From that video, I spotted several mistakes for instance, I recited the verses without following the right sequences, then of course, I took some effort to make correction.

I think thats all for today. Let us ponder a bit what Rasululullah has said in his saying : "Verily, the example of the owner of the Quran is like the example of the owner of the tied camel. If he keeps it tied, (commit himself to it) he will hold it back and if he lets it loose it will escape from him".  :)  May Allah bless each one of us, ameen.

Third Report.

Assalamualaikum. You know, learning a piece of information at once, does not guarantee that you will remember it later on. And that is what happened to ME. Yes people. Remember that I posted in the previous post that I started memorized on September? Well its good if I do my repetition often. After sometimes, I started to preoccupied with other things. Assignments? Not much. Mid terms? Naa.. Its a must right? . I PROCRASTINATE my repetition on surah al Mulk. Now, let me remind myself. "Dear Lina, you dont memorize Yaasin yet, loser". Sorry Doctor, this is how I remind/discipline myself or otherwise I will keep on repeating the alike behavior. (negative feedback)
So, after thinking for a while, I decided to rehearse back. Guess what? I forgot some part of it. Nice right? Dateline is around the corner. So, I need to speed up. Remember my Quran that I used before? I left it home, unintentionally. So, its kind of difficult for me to use the other one that I borrowed. Huuuuuuu..... But its okay.

I started after Maghrib and I found that like I never memorized it before. Ya Allah.. :(
First, I open the Quran, and I read through for four times. Then I closed it. I try to recall back. Failed at the eleventh's ayah. I tried again. This time, I repeated my eleventh until 30th for four times. I managed to memorize until 19th. Ya Allah. I tried again. 19th ayah to the 30th I repeated for two times.

Then after that, after 6 repetition for the whole surah ( I need to force myself), I managed to remember all the thirty verses and I hope it will last forever in my mind. I even took some videos of me reciting the surah back. :) Its like doing a hard memory traces. This time, I used the same rhythm, you know, with same melody and the verses came to my mind like after this melody should come this verse. How should I say eh? Haa.. like lyrics in the songs. I know, Quranic verses are much more pure, high and awesome than any other songs because its KALAMULLAH :) . Let me give you an example, imagine yourself are memorizing national anthem. You know right, after " Negaraku..." started with the deep tone, "Tanah tumpahnya darahku".. beginning with the high tone come afterwards, and so on. :) So do as the verses. Right after "Tabaarakallazi..." with specific tone , '"Allazi khalaqal mauta wal hayah..."will be the the next to complete the whole melody. Get it? I hope you are. :) Or should I say, melodious recitation is pleasing to ones hearing and also assists in memorization? Hehe.
So, I think thats all and what I should do next is keep repeating without failing, insyaAllah. Surah Yaasin, I am on my way. Please make me work hard for it ya Allah. Amin.
